Hob Driver Working with Allion 240 (NZT240)

I am new to Forum and Hob, So i have an question regarding hob driver, I want to calculate fuel economy of my Allion 240 ( Manufacturing year was 2002) It support OBD 2 and if i used bluetooth enable obd adapter it's possible to read fuel economy?
And continuously connection and driving with adapter is it damaged to ecu or generate error codes?
Please kindly answer my burning questions

Hello.

Yes, it is possible to connect your Allion. Probably you'll need one of ToyotaJDM protocol setups.
Fuel economy in these modes is read from injector sensor and is very precise.

We've head only rare compliances about persistent OBD2 connection when driving, and only on very old vehicles. You should check if your adapter not eating much of battery when vehicle is off (to not to drain it). Also, we had reports on some 1990' toyotas that ABS stops working when OBD2 adapter is connected. That easily could be checked.

i will purchase Mini ELM327 V2.1 OBD2 II Bluetooth Diagnostic and try to connect it will hob
