hobDrive Support

I have a Saturn Sky with a Chevy EcoTec 2.4L engine and an E67 ECU / ECM and I'm trying to use a WinCE 6.0 device to read the PIDs from the OBD-II port.

What ELM327 connector / cable do I need to buy to be compatible with my WinCE device and vehicle ECU / ECM. Can I use this connector?

No. Hobdrive only works with elm adapters.
Of the inexpensive, more or less Chinese adapters, assembled on the main PIC 18F25K80 chip.

Does it have to be a bluetooth wireless adapter or can I get an ELM327 USB wire?

I keep getting a message that says "this is a first run of HobDrive. Please choose your OBD-II..." but when I click 'ok', it just closes out of HobDrive and goes back to the windows desktop. I haven't tried it while it's plugged into my car yet.

I added the windows CE USB driver from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and I used the auto driver script.

Also, I'm currently using the 1.1.1 version as a demo, where can I get the full version of WinCE HobDrive?

Before buying the full version, try the demo of the later versions

thank you, those versions seem to work a little better but it still crashes when I go to search for the USB adapter I plugged in. Does the OBD-II device need to be plugged into the car for HobDrive to scan for the OBD-II adapter?

Is there a good place to download ELM 327 USB COM port drivers? I don't think the ones I have are working.

Hi Leeman, unfortunatly, finding USB COM drivers for WinCE could be very tricky.. You may search for your device support forums or other info to understand where and how to install USB serial driver...
