Fuel indicators do not work

Hi, I wanted to try a free version of HOBD and it works well but partially. The thing is that under all fuel indicators I have "Not available" message. I have a bluetooth ELM327 device, run software on GoClever 4366FMBT navigation (Win CE 5.0) and all of this in Kia Picanto 2006 (1.0, gas).

I didn't found a dedicated profile to my car so maybe some settings are wrong?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Do you mean "Fuel details" Screen?
Thats because extended data on that screen is only available in full version.

I mean even "fuel economy" on main screen or every indicator regarding fuel on Trip computer screen. I just don't know if it is my car that can't provide these information to this software or it is a limitation of freeware version of this software?

Ah, thats probably because you have not selected correct fuel calculation method. In vehicle settings, try MAP or MAF - one of these two should work.

Indeed, it started to work However values are out of space... I did a little calibration according to manual so now I think I should do a few full fuel filling ups and test it. I see that this software has a potential but I really don't know if it is accurate enough.

If you have any tips regarding proper configuration I will listen eagerly

What method works for you? MAP?

You should really calibrate this method by a couple of full tank fillups. Calibration parameter is "Volumetric efficiency". Then it'll give you quite a precise results.

MAP is working as well as Engine Load. I am using MAP method at the moment.

And I was just about to ask if full tank fillups are affecting the way of calculating fuel related values? BTw there should be an option to delete wrong entry. I made a mistake and had to manually search for the record in files... An option to customize the view would be nice to as I have rather small screen and not everything is visible.

How should I use Volumetric efficiency parameter? How it is affecting the calculations?

Right now I have MPG ca. doubled than in real.

PS I have my old full tank fillups written down so I can rewrite them to the application
PS2 I have just rewritten my notes to hobdrive but... why it is not showing all the MPGs?

PS3 how can I adjust past dates? It has a strange format in that file.

For your engine, I believe you should set VE to 50 or 60 and then tune it up.

We are working on improving fuel events screen, hope this'll appear soon.

Have you changed a tank size of your vehicle? That could be a reason why it skips some records. But you see, the MPG (sum) should be ultimately correct.

I still don't know what this parameter actually does...
Calculated MPGs are not correct.
And regarding tank size... its size is 34l but as it is LPG, the tank is being fueled up with max 25-26l because of the safety reason, but this value varies, depending on ambient temperature, fueling distributor etc... so I don't know what should be the best value here.

decreasing it will decrease fuel consumption.

What are the real fuel economy you expect to see, and what hobdrive shows you?

I set VE to 10 today and fuel consumption is still too high...

And regarding your question, lets do a simple maths:

acording to my values provided on screenshot before, take any two lines, for example these with ODO 99142 and 99390, trip distance is 99390-99142=248km and after this distance I filled up the tank with 28,8l so 28,8 / 248 * 100 = 11,6l / 100km ---> but hobdrive shows 8,4 (instant) and 10 (sum) what obviously is not correct. Any others entries are not good too, and some MGS are not counted at all...

BTW I see that this software could be much better and there are many things that can be improved - maybe I can help you a little bit? What programming language are you using? I can also do some beta-tests as I am going to work by car every day and most of the time is wasted in traffic jam anyway
