HOBD 1.1.71 Exciting feature and unknown error.

Hi Cali,

It was exciting to see the new feature in this beta that after a timeout it goes to automatic suspend mode after power off and awakens on power on.

I was trying this new feature and excited to see that the sleep and awake work but when the Win CE 6.0 based devise comes awake after it goes to sleep by power off is not automatically connecting to the ELM bluetooth adaptor. Instead it tries to connect to the OBDII ELM adaptor and errors out continuously.

Can you help me figure out as what has gone wrong. I am attaching the config.xml and user.vehicle (Desktop.zip) & log.txt with this post for your preview.

thats a common issue with wince - some hardware incorrectly resumes after sleep and is not functional.

The only workaround for now is to do sleep/resume again and see if hardware awakes.
Another way is to switch off/on bluetooth in BT settings.

Thank you for your response. Can it not be automated to restart bluetooth on/off in case of error in the application when it wakes up. I am just curious.

On winCE hardware there is basically no common way to enable/disable bluetooth from application.
Each manufacturer has his own interfaces ;(

Unfortunately we have not found any reliable way to fix this issue except switching BT off and on in system settings of your device (or reboot in case your device has no such option).

Hi everybody.
I have a Chinese ODBII device with ELM327. The version of the software's 2.1, but this is only 1.0.
Problem:
HOBD 1.1.1 WinCE sends continously ATZ command, but cannot join with ODB.
Cause:
The power on/off and ATZ command does not set the "E" (echo) control the default condition, therefore the HOBD does not start. There is not an answer ATZ from ODBII, because E=0, but the software is awaiting for response (ATZ...ELM327 v2.1).
Solution:
Can send the ATE1 or ATD command before first ATZ.

Can someone do this software modification (WinCe)?

Can you please share how your adapter looks like or where you purchased it?
It is very uncommon that ATE1 should be sent first.

I think this is an ELM327 software problem.
If I send an ATD or ATE1 command with hyper terminal (PC), the HOBD (WINCE5) first start fine, but the second start is false, because the ATZ command does not set the "E" control the default condition, and OBDII does not send response back.
Is the problem solvable?

Just checked this, this was fixed in versions > 1.1.76

Have you tried latest hobdrive beta builds for winCE?
